The poll, released on May 30 by Atlas Intel, found Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and former transportation secretary in the Biden administration, to be the top pick among Democrats who responded to the survey.

A total of 31.5% of self-identified Democrats who responded to the poll said they would vote for Buttigieg for president in four years, according to the poll.

Other surveys in May from firms such as Echelon Insights and McLaughlin & Associates have found Harris in first place in the hypothetical primary, making Atlas Intel’s poll stand out among the rest.

Harris is the third most popular pick among Democrats in the poll, falling behind U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.

American society has demonstrated, twice, that it prefers a mentally retarded duck to a woman, perhaps we should take note.

And until neoliberals have another corpodem woman on their bench, women conveniently can’t win.

They’re holding back all women to stop one progressive woman.

Hey, remind me, what place did kamala get in the primary against Joe Biden in 2020? Oh wait, she dropped out because she was literally the most divisive and least popular candidate. Elizabeth Warren was like fucking 3rd. I still have her “billionaire tears” mug. Which was a strategy she was told to tone down because she was offending the rich donors.

Yes, the worst, most divisive female neoliberal warhawks lost. DNC candidates truly suck.

Idk if you want this to be your mindset. It’s dangerous and can lead to collapse. This is the start of a potential snowball into total mistrust of the society towards the government. Just look at this as an exception like your darkest days.

AOC should be the first choice. Buttigieg is not in tune with lower and middle-class America. However, he is a former Naval Intelligence officer and he is not an idiot.

I’ve seen interviews with him, I think definitely don’t think he’s an establishment Democrat. Him with AOC as VP would be a progressive ticket, at least as far as the US would go.

That’s a stretch there. He consulted for Loblaws on behalf of McKinley for about 6 months almost 20 years ago, and hell knows, they weren’t bringing some outside junior analyst (he was in his 20s) in on the bread price fixing scheme they’d been running for 15 years already.

This is some conspiracy level shit.

The Democrstic party was stuck between opposing Trump and opposing leftism and categorically chose to oppose leftism. That’s been the conundrum they can’t figure out.

I dislike Kamala, but because of bidens hubris, she was the best choice for 2024.

She immediately got access to bidens war chest and was immediately able to start campaigning with infrastructure and money…

Biden dropping out so late made Kamala the only real choice…

She was a terrible candidate who always chose the wrong way to campaign, but unfortunately she was the best candidate.

I really don’t get this. The convention was still 2 weeks in the future. Why even have a convention if 2 weeks before it is too late to pick a candidate? Or do we just admit everything is fixed before the convention anyway and stop bothering?

Biden had $1billion dollars in his war chest.

The democrats needed that money to start campaigning, no matter the candidate.

Until they had an official candidate, the money couldn’t be transferred, potentially taking multiple weeks.

Kamala, since she was part of Biden-Harris, could use his funds day 1.

I agree that they could’ve had an open convention, but the $$$ was too attractive

I’m pretty sure that Kamala was the establishment’s first choice in 2020 then, after voters rejected her, they switched to Biden and stuck her in the VP slot.

I guess that all depends on who else runs. If it’s just a bunch of standard establishment Democratic neolibs, then sure, let’s go with the one who knows how to talk. Of course, if that’s what the entire field looks like, then we’ll be back to getting wiped off the map again in 2032.

More than that. His dad is one of the translators of Antoni Gramsci to English language. He is well educated in how capitalist states use cultural hegemony to maintain power and chose to serve the ruling class interests.

Working for McKinsey & Company would be a big sign of it. His time as Mayor included a bunch of business friendly and privatization of city properties and demolition of housing.

Essentially he represents the wing of the party that shows deference to corporate tech companies: which is essentially the status quo of the ruling class. He is of a similar conduit to the oligarchy that JD Vance is for the GOP.

You mean outside of his whole neoliberal political career?! I mean he’s done some good stuff but it’s mostly been handouts for the wealthy with little more than a handshake for working Americans by comparison.

They’ve been grooming Buttigieg for a run since the start of the Biden admin. They paraded him out at every televised crisis and he was going on every swing voter talk show. He’s kicked into high gear going on podcasts and putting out YT and tik too content. If they don’t run him in 2028 I would be so surprised. Imo he should announce his intent now and start a years long tour of podcasts, rallies and TV appearances.
