It probably wasn’t that many takes, he’d had plenty of practice delivering technobabble by that point.
Wasn’t Scotty running Starfleet R&D during the Dominion War?
I like to think he was the reason Starfleet found a way to resist the Breen dampener weapon.
“Oh you know how to shut off our power, do you? I figured out how to break the Enterprise free from a giant hand, I can figure this out, too.”
The Starfleet Corps of Engineers series of… novellas, I guess, has Scotty as the head of the Corps in the years after his rescue from the Dyson sphere.
Beta cannon, of course.
I would actually be super interested to see what Scotty got up to in the 24th century.
Try to avoid reading Shatner’s books, though.
Why?
Personally I LOVE reading Shatner’s fanfic. It’s hilariously bad.
At least he’s consistent.
