They could have made this a really good message, but unfortunately they ended it with Geordi going “well sorry I tried to be nice to you!” and it totally working on her.
It really hasn’t aged well and especially hits different in 2026.

Star Trek has always been as horny and profane as its audience and medium has allowed.
It does with this strain/variant which is why this story is newsworthy. But the usual one does not. There have been localized outbreaks of this one in the past but never a worldwide pandemic.
Settle down, we are not fucked. Hantavirus has been around forever, even this strain.

Two off the top of my head.
TNG “Data’s Day”: we see Data and Worf in a replimat while Worf picks out a wedding gift for Miles and Keiko. A family in the background picks out a new stuffed toy for the kid.
ENT “Dead Stop”: the mysterious repair station has large arms with industrial replicators that fabricate and install entire ship pieces at once.

If she were not dead, I would kill her!

Hey well we skipped the Eugenics Wars so I don’t see why we can’t skip WWIII.

Suddenly I want a Pangea Factorio map.

He said “can” not “will”

Counterpoint: they should have just kept real world dates without worrying that they “didn’t happen.” We all know Star Trek is made up. Stop trying to reconcile it with real history.
It’s not sawdust. Some might be derived from wood but it’s just cellulose and does not contain lignin, which is what differentiates wood from other plant matter. Chemically, it’s basically the same as any other plant starch.
If sawdust made my yeasted enriched dough taste awesome I’d be putting it on there too.

I will not abide Edward Jellico slander.

Not me, but over the weekend a buddy of mine asked me which Zelda is best to play all the way through. He’s never played a Zelda game before. So he’s emulating Ocarina of Time on Steam Deck and I’m following his progress through it.
He’s committed himself to not looking anything up, though he’s allowing himself to ask me for hints which I’m gladly giving. I feel like the Nintendo Power Line guy.
He keeps me updated with these little gems every now and then like “this owl is really annoying” and “fuck Mido, all my homies hate Mido” which I’m really appreciating.

Release order is always the best viewing order. Machete order and other alternative orders are only for rewatches.

All I see is a bunch of guys passing a basketball around.

No cheese.

All I’ve seen of Academy is one scene of Giamatti on YouTube. I’ve heard that that scene isn’t representative of the whole show, unfortunately.

My main iron and stone deposits were too far from each other to be practical so I had to set up a whole new concrete plant a ways away. Then a train line to bring the concrete in. Then I had to take care of some biters in the vicinity to make room for the concrete plant. And there went my evening.
I would actually be super interested to see what Scotty got up to in the 24th century.
