I (still) have and use one, but it has it’s limitations. (t.ex. usage in the car)

All breaches i’ve seen so far where either “i tought it was safe” or the “yeah it looked a bit suspicious but I clicked it just to see”
If you don’t trust it …Then why not simply replace it.? They are not that expensive anymore and peace of mind is worth something too. Especially when switching to pfsense

400v gives quite a spark when shorted. It’s not worth the risk, replace the board especially if any on it is charred.
I have an apc 3000 which is a fantastic device. But it uses more power than my pc, switch, router and ap’s combined. The grid is stable enough for me to rely on things to survive or can be restored from either the local or the offsite backup.

Them: Yeah, but … It’s sooo easy and I have nothing to hide.

Or try <ctrl>c

Let’s be gratefull it does not run win11 okay? (Or any windows for that matter)

but this guy … looks in good health.
I’m lost for words. Either you desperately want to believe it, or you missed the appointment at the optician, or we need to redefine healthy.
I went for kiss and very very low resources: All my logs go to one central syslog. That takes in the logs, filters out crap, send critical messages to IRC and writes logs to postgres. Then grafana queries the postgresdb

Script that monitors the logs and uses notify-send to throw a popup? Not yet fully interactive but could be a start

You could drop all and use the log function to see all traffic denied
A manager would say “How does $11 device/month sounds like to you??”
Thnx. I will take time to look deeper into fortimanager. Will also see if Auvik gas advantage over the current oxidized server (it has been running fine for years now without much attention)
It’s a multi vendor environment. Not ideal, parts are ours, parts are managed on behalf of customers. It’s mostly cisco-asa, procurve/aruba, routerOS and some fortios I’ve seen fortimanager, can’t say I’m impressed so far (but truth being said, have not spent a lot of time in it so far)

Most spoke on the condition of anonymity, for fear of losing their job or being subjected to a polygraph exam.
Why? Why is holding on to this job important if everything about it sucks? Management, moral, targets, inhumane methods, feeling forced to hide your identity, being dispiced by the public, etc. etc. Noting positive mentioned in the article. Why not quit? You’re not the pope, it’s not a job for life!
I’ve once had a customer whom rang like a second before service went down. ( i Still wish i made it up)
