The WHO released some concerning numbers.
I know Lemmists here don’t trust anything from WHO but that’s all I got.

The position that denouncing Israeli crimes is antisemitic has been the official position of Israel for decades,
At this point, that’s just a template answer, not different than the template answers China delivers everytime someone says something about the Uygur genocide, the Hong Kong occupation, or claims over Taiwan.

Me too.
I’m both sad and very angry about the situation, nothing news worthy so far makes me feel so powerless.
I’m impressed by how they were able to make a worse ribbon interface than Microsoft itself.
“highly configurable” and “very little effort to start using” don’t blend together in car mechanics, and they don’t in Linux either.
I was going to suggest Gentoo or Arch because they’re the standard for “highly configurable” but they really demand some effort to start using them.
Also, so far, only Debian really, really, cares about open source, most distros don’t mind copyrighted video codecs or proprietary GPU drivers if they make the user’s life easier.
As a punished Russian living in Lomonosov, let me explain you what has changed for us since this “punishment” started:
Absolutely nothing.
(Oh, yes, Coke bottles are now green, instead of red.)
Not really fond of it. But so far it’s the best tool I’ve found to be used in a professional environment that supports Exchange.
After 20 years, lots of people grow out of their mistakes and become wiser.
Ballmer is not one of these people.
Oh, that will explain why outlook runs like shit on my new computer.
And after trying Linux inside windows and then inside a VM and realising it runs like shit, they’ll be convinced windows is better, but they’ve been deceived.

Fair enough. It’s also a beast of its time. Now that everything is JavaScript or similar, vscode just works better.

It’s quite common knowledge, Microsoft does horrible operating systems but great dev tools. Visual Studio (not vscode) was amazing to develop software.
And thanks god we don’t have to deal with Eclipse anymore.
The real question would be why the open source community cannot create a better dev tool that’s not outmatched by a glorified text editor.

Can you link me the app?

Yes, ZFS is commonly known for heavy disk I/O and also huge RAM usage, the rule used to be “1GB of RAM for every TB of disk” but that’s not compulsory.
Meanwhile, about BTRFS, keep in mind that Synology uses a mixed recipe because the RAID code of BTRFS is still green and it’s not considered production ready. Here’s an interesting read about how Synology filled the gaps: https://daltondur.st/syno_btrfs_1/

Oh that’s great to hear. Thank you for sharing.

The most common software choices are TrueNAS and UNRAID.
Depending on your use-case, one is better than the other:
TrueNAS uses ZFS, which is great if you want to be absolutely sure the unreplaceable data on your disks is 100% safe, like your personal photos. UNRAID has a more flexible expansion and more power efficient, but doesn’t prevent any bit flip, which is not really an issue if you only store multimedia for streaming.
If you prefer a hardware solution ready to use, Synology and QNAP are great choices so long you remember to use ZFS (QNAP) or BTRFS (Synology) as filesystem.
“500 Alpine installations? Are you trying to turn their computer into a ski resort?”
Better now? 🤣
Sony Xperia 1 here, no app, neither.
