291·6 months agoThis makes me so happy I’m using Graphine OS. Also the entire idea that there “not storing my history” I don’t trust them. They have already been sued multiple times over keeping ingogneto data.
Called them once when I was very bored. The person on the other side, refused to accept any bit of evidence. I asked him about queer youth suicide rates, his response “part of gods plan” or some kind of shit like that.
Like fuck off with that.

201·6 months agoFirst everyone always does. Second there is always a chance you do want to hide with a regime change.
My advice if you want something with changing some habits that is pretty good Graphine OS would be a good option. I’ve been running for close to 3 months at this point I think. If you run the right apps it can be decently private and isn’t a huge inconvenience.
It’s really down to how much time you have and how inconvenientced you want to be. Generally the more secure something is the less convenient it can be. I find Graphine with FOSS apps and other secure services to fit what I want and need.
You seem to have all the same reasoning I did. It is nice to hear someone else confirm it. Also when I need to I still plan on using @tuta.com for things I want more privacy on.

2522·7 months agoI totally get the anger with Netflix. I fucking hate them as a filmmaker. But I really don’t think a long term solution is pirating content.
BUY CONTENT YOU LIKE
Is it more expensive? Of course it is, that’s part of an equitable society. Also it means you end up with content you really like and not a bunch of junk.

2·8 months agoIt’s a great example of why I push for the use of technologies where I don’t have to trust companies to play nice with my data. If I use (correctly implemented) end to end encryption then you physically can’t access my data.

1·9 months agoWould you recommend an AMD or Intel?

I got bored when I was in early college. I already held leftest views and didn’t love a lot of what Google and other big tech platforms where doing. I started with Proton but honestly mainly due to there lack of even decent Linux support changed over to Tuta. I feel lucky that I did all of this about a year and a half ago so just before they shoved AI in everything.
