KDE is ideal to me given performance and polish, things like fractional scaling and Wayland are all top tier. I use Kubuntu but am waiting on “KDE Linux”.

They’re maximizing ad revenue, that is the rationale.
Bitcoin makes sense when the government prints 40% more currency and inflates assets, like Covid.
You’re assuming these people are doing something useful, they could be dealing with Microslop licensing as their full time job. Which is definitely a full time job, its just not useful work in the broader sense.

Programming@programming.dev•AI still doesn't work very well, businesses are faking it, and a reckoning is coming
2·13 days agoI wonder if it isn’t that AI is good, its that all other software is ass.
I use a patching software, antivirus, and backup software at work and they’re all now broken, after being patched. One is a 10.4B dollar company with a critical bug.
My theory is its war with China. The US has likely alerted other country that China will do to them that the US does to Iran, using social media to guide elections.
I think a built in antivirus isnt a bad idea, for free none the less.

Programming@programming.dev•Projects are shutting down due to Microslop's Github CoPilot making AI contributions easy and plentiful
14·26 days agoI felt like I had imposter syndrome at my tech job, and then we got a boss whose only contribution is to make chatgpt goals and objectives. Which he can’t understand them himself, because he gets called out in the meeting for obvious bullshit, and he defends himself by saying he has chatgpt summarize it.
AI has made me feel better about my own capabilities, because I realize most people are idiots. AI makes them clearly visible to everyone, and theyre too dumb to realize how obvious it is. Its a trap for the lazy, the 40% that do nothing at their job, and they are too clueness to understand what they’re doing.

I’d always get errors with the /tmp folder when running rootless, I hope its better now.

I use pcloud and it has lifetime plans that go on sale quite often. A few hundred got me a terabyte for life.
