What’s a tankie and what makes them close to Nazis?

I disagree. If Lemmy was plagued with Nazis, it would down the shitter pretty fast.

2·3 months agolinux-lts is causing the same problem for me. When booting I need to press e and add nomodeset at the end of boot loader.
sudo modprobe amdgpu modprobe: ERROR: could not insert ‘amdgpu’: Invalid argument
And the following is blank sudo ls /lib/firmware/amdgpu/ | grep navi21

3·3 months agoUninstalling all desktop environments and KDE related stuff, then reinstalling kde-desktop and sddm worked.
It looks better and runs faster than it ever did before!

Linux@lemmy.ml•ArchLinux doesn't past bootloader without setting nomodeset
3·3 months agoThis worked so easily.
- installed linux-lts alongside already installed linux.
- Updating my bootloader (systemd-boot instead of grub) to use linux-lts instead by changing 2 lines in /boot/loader/entries/my-entry.conf.
- Reboot.
KDE is too slow to be useable now. Should I try reinstalling it?
Opening another TTS, the terminal runs fast and fine. No process is above 1% CPU and 2℅ memory. Barely any ram space used. A lot of storage space available.

Oh neat! https://www.raspberrypi.com/products/raspberry-pi-5/
I just installed it this summer using ArchInstall. I’m on Pipewire as well.

What’s a better alternative for a CPU
I’ve been loving Qobuz so far. Migrating our family was easier than I thought.
Plus it comes with a free music migration tool.
Qobuz distributed royalties due to labels and publishers corresponding to an average amount of US$0.01873 per stream
This means that Qobuz generates on average five times more revenue per user than the market average,
How much does Spotify pay per stream?
Spotify pays artists between $0.003 - $0.005 per stream on average.
That works out as an approx revenue split of 70/30 - so that’s 70% to the artist/rights holders and 30% to Spotify.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•End of 10 — Windows 10 is reaching the end of its support. Time to make the switch to Linux.
41·8 months agoLinux has gotten incredibly better for gaming. Now Bluetooth controllers connect just as easy as Windows, and Steam has Proton built in so that when you run a Windows only game, Steam will automatically install the appropriate Proton and Wine software – just make sure to turn on compatibility mode in the Steam launcher settings. Every game I ran so far runs fine on Linux.
It couldn’t be a better time to switch to Linux.
Oh, I don’t think I’ve witnessed one here.
