exFAT is still the best format for multiplatform compatibility so it’s good to see that it’s still getting maintained.

It does a little bit worse than v0.1 on all benchmarks which isn’t ideal. That doesn’t really say much about the finetuning potential though.

This game gives me weird vibes. The studio already had 2 other games in early access before this one, both of which are seemingly abandoned or at a standstill development wise. The gameplay itself just kind of looks like a generic base building game but with Pokémon and guns. Most of the steam reviews are just making jokes about the knockoff elements, guns, animal cruelty, etc.

I honestly can’t tell if this game is actually good or if it’s just a brief trend.

FAIR has existed for over 10 years now, I’d hardly call that fickle.

I’ve done it before using their update tool on freedos. Not sure if all versions support this but it was pretty quick and painless.

Just introducing them to it is probably enough. Show them different desktop environments and applications to get them used to the idea of diverse interfaces and workflows. Just knowing that alternatives exist could help them break out of the Windows monoculture later. Enable all of the cool window effects.

Not another one

I find a lot of “visual overhaul” mods beyond just textures make games look worse. Most that I’ve tried go overboard with lighting effects that are distracting and don’t really fit the original art. The best visual mods I’ve used were the ones that extended view distances, increased shadow resolution and fixed small but noticeable visual issues like banding and shimmering. Trying to completely rework lighting in a game rarely turns out well.

I’m not sure how much they differ from regular exchanges, but if a central wallet is involved I don’t think it really solves any issues.

For smaller coins probably, for larger ones probably not. The issue is more about the centralization of power. If a group of large miners decided to get together and mess with the chain there’s not much the average small miners can do. They could do a hard fork from the main network but if the general public doesn’t switch their new chain will have no value.

Crypto hasn’t been decentralized for a very long time. For most coins large miners/pools have control over the transactions. Proof of stake is far worse. Most coins are traded via centralized exchanges as doing anything on chain is slow and often has high fees.

Blockchain in its current form is not the answer for decentralized value exchange. I’m not sure if a proper decentralized currency can even work in practice. Currencies must be backed by something to have a stable value. In nearly all cases you need a central entity that will guarantee a currency’s value.

From what I’ve heard they’re competitive for English but I’ve never used Deepspeech myself. Whisper has much more community support so it’s probably easier to use overall.

I’ve used the tplink ones that they’re using and they’ve been pretty solid. I can’t say how they’d fare in a 24/7 setup though since they’re not really intended for that.
