Also… Q wouldn’t abduct children into a holodeck, when he could just abduct them into a new reality.
She takes Alexander to the holodeck - which I think is fine, since his father is abusive through the abandonment - and spends some time with him. What took me off guard is that she takes him to a spa. Mudbath. Possibly naked. I am a little on the fence on this one because nudity is not always sexual and the context of a bath at least lends a solid explanation of why to be in the nude. On the other hand she just met that poor boy.
The Betazed sensibilities on nudity are so different though that I think you can excuse the casual forms like that. We don’t really get a sense of Klingon nudity sensibilities though, so it’s hard to really put together the full picture.
He didn’t seem uncomfortable or harmed by it at least
Plus, we (humans) have changerooms with nudity and it’s relatively normal. I find it not very common now (in Canada), but it was when I was a kid. A month ago I was in Europe and had to use a communal shower, and there was a dad and a kid, which was weird but also totally normal.
So I dunno, yes, weird to do that without consent from mr woof, but I don’t think it was inherently wrong.
Taking me to a spa is 100% something my weird grandma would have done (she took me some weird places back in the '80s). There wouldn’t have been any nudity, but she was a Republican, not a Betazoid.
I cant stand either of these characters. They did an excellent job with them. Depending on mood I’ll skip a Q episode.
I always looked forward to Q episodes when they were airing.
De Lancie always made things exciting.
