With all due respect, Captain, I am the head of Starfleet IT, and I have it on good authority that if you try to replicate a replicator, you can break the space time continuum.

I never thought of that. Why can’t the industrial replicators on Bajor replicate more industrial replicators?

I would imagine that they could fabricate most of the parts for other industrial replicators, but there are probably some components that can’t be replicated. We know that dilithium and latinum can’t be replicated, so there are probably other exotic materials too.

Sort of like how you can use a 3D printer to print a new 3D printer, but there are some parts you cannot print like that. Like if its a PLA printer you probably still do need some metal parts for their characteristics, sturdyness or whatever.

So maybe a replicated replicator would work, but probably be very unreliable or stops working quickly.

I guess it could replicate itself but a slightly smaller version.

Or replicate the parts needed to assemble an exact copy.

Well yes, it can, but it requires power. Vast amounts of energy. It’s still about the energy, even in the distant future, because I swear to the prophets, it never ends. It just doesn’t stop not stopping.

If you have Industrial Replicators though, you have the power to power them. Or maybe not, maybe Bajor didn’t have the infrastructure to power them, and Star Fleet sent them with giant, but limited batteries

Yeah that would work assuming there isn’t a part that is one single large part. I am thinking like a big side panel or support structure.

I guess you weld parts together after the replication.

They are secretly sabatoging them to not make more replicators to maintain section 31 control.

          IDK I was mostly joking
