Just based on the messages (that could be miss leading) sounds like some features will not work.

Have you tried changing the default view from Columns to List? IMO it makes the UI much better. Then you can add in a more details about each PC on the main view. Make is very useful if you have a lot of computers you are managing.

You can also switch from the left bar interface to top bar interface. That looks better to me. Also dark mode.

When that person is a public figure I think it is news worthy. Because it won’t be one person but a handful. As I am betting alot of people who follow them will want to try it out as well.

I was under the impression data privacy is very important in the data center world. VPS would be included in that.

However as far as i understand for all of them it is just a policy to not snoop. They could break in and snoop on your data if they really wanted to or were legally forced to do so. You can get around this by encrypting your data on the VPS.

Sure you can criticize as much as you want but if you are wrong in your criticism it just damages all of your criticism over all.

In my opinion it is important to state facts not fiction. This was not Microsoft’s fault, no matter how much you hate Microsoft it still wasn’t there fault and saying that is was is incorrect and doesn’t solve the issue.

I think it is more about the power required to run the lock motor.

I have several z-wave door locks as well. They all need battery replacement within a few months. Unless I don’t open/close them very often. They can go much longer.

But it really isn’t to big of a deal. Home Assistant tells me when they are getting low and I just swap the batteries in a few minutes.

I have the same lock. I didn’t want it but it was the only lock I could find that would work on my sliding door. The key is to buy rechargeable batteries. Mine last maybe a month before they need to be replaced.

Public services require a little more work, you will need to rely on a service from a company, either a tunnel (e.g. Tailscale funnel) or a VPS.

I have been hosting random public services for years publicly and it hasn’t been an issue.

Edit, I might have miss understood the definition of public. I have hosted stuff publicly, however everything was protected by a login screen. So it wasn’t something a random person could make use of.
