    • Shape of Dreams: Need to scratch that hack n slash itch. D4 is boring and PoE 2 ran horrible on my machine. New game but under $15.
    • Cuphead: One of my kids has wanted to play this for years. Xmas present for him.
    • Date Everything: The other kid wants this one. Xmas present. I dunno, man.
    • The Seance of Blake Manor: Our family loves these kinds of games and it’s one of the only ways to get us all in a room. New game but under $15.
    • Split Fiction: I hate the price still but my wife loved It Takes Two. Fiiiiiiine.
    • Duck Detective The Secret Salami: Another family game.
    • Echoes of the Plum Grove: I like this kinda stuff
    • Capcom Fighting Collection 2: Man I love Power Stone.
    • Astro Bot: Reviews are good enough to catch it on black friday deals.
    • Spiderman 2: Loved 1 and Miles Morales.

  • Did a bunch of computers over the last year. Kids computers, personal, mini PCs, 2 HTPCs. Only real issue I’ve had was I had to switch to a DP to HDMI from a HDMI cable because one of the HTPCs wouldn’t do resolution or refresh rate higher than a 3rd grader’s chromebook. Once I swapped the cable it was fine. Most are Mint, 1 CachyOS, one Bazzite.

We play a ton of games and watch a ton of media and we’ve had no trouble at all with anything. None of us play games that want anti-cheat so that’s a big plus.

  • Nextcloud borked my Unraid server. Took me forever to find the source of constant lockups. Apart from that, the Nextcloud container took up more of my time than any other part of my server, including the OS.

This was a couple years ago. Maybe things have changed.

My Unraid server is a dream otherwise. Rock solid and 30 containers running smoothly for years and years.

    Just another data point.

I used Proxmox for a long time before Unraid, but that’s when getting deep into it was a hobby. Now I just want it to work.

  • Decades ago I bought a sealed copy of Dragon Warrior off a guy for $30. While exchanging info he said he’d throw in a sealed copy of Dragon Warrior 2 for $20 more. I wasn’t really a collector (I wanted to play them) so I said sure what the hell, nice boxes and inserts are always cool. I never got around to playing them so they sat in a plastic shell.

They’re perfect, they’re unopened, and I still got em.
