Linux@lemmy.ml•Open Source Developers Are Exhausted, Unpaid, and Ready to Walk Away
4·3 months agoThis is purely subjective and depends on whom you’re talking to. While I’ve had series of burn out stages with free software development and maintenance, I only distanced myself from writing code but not the community altogether. I also only work for orgs that are run by volunteers not by companies so theres that. If you work on projects that are led by a company, you’ll always feel like you’re being used because there’s no sense of belonging.

Minecraft@lemmy.world•A survival house that me and my friends built in Java during a game nightEnglish
1·3 months agoHonestly I play more by myself and I enjoy it that way too as there’s nobody else that disturbs your creative vision of doing something.

1·3 months agoYou can always connect with people at college or workplace. I’d find it rare for someone to turn down a request to play minecraft. It’s the only game that I managed to get my friends playing

Programming@programming.dev•Do you actually read documentation, or just search it when you’re stuck?
21·3 months agoThese days I prefer reading manuals and documentation to get the most basic version of anything running and then build up on it. If anything goes wrong, I go to stackoverflow

AI@lemmy.ml•Microsoft CEO Concerned AI Will Destroy the Entire Company
2·4 months agoI knew this company and its products are going to shit when they started forcing AI on their employees. Soon they pushed AI into windows and now are launching AI products baked into windows which are of no use. They aren’t solving any problems but creating new ones instead
Sadly there are other nether portals being used by my friends for an XP farm and this sword portal takes me to the same place where the other portal takes them. They said they’re gonna destroy the other portal once it’s of no use so that might take a while
