From what I gather, if you like tinkering and compiling and installing random weird apps then immutable can be a serious pain in the ass like I discovered.
Wasn’t about that at all. Any DNF action took a lightyear… man just typing out those long commands (very hard to remember coming from apt) nevermind the much crazier wait time. Using toolbox for dev environments to compile things was a total nightmare. I’m sure there’s a scenario where it’s ideal, that was certainly not my situation.
I used an immutable fedora on my surface pro 4, I wanted to shoot myself in the face every time I had to install anything. I’m good on that for the rest of my natural life.

Because that company is completely insane and gotten too big for their britches. Also, I feel a company that big unfortunately can’t be touched by right to repair… or does that movement even include stuff like bricked stadia controllers and bios locked laptops destined for the landfill?

Anything that helps keep unusable electronics out of the dump is awesome. Shame on google for providing the unlock firmware for a only limited time.

Not to mention the Steam Deck lit the fire under the asses of all the other manufacturers, if they weren’t already developing handhelds. Quite a positive price and technology chain reaction.

I never understood Minecraft until I saw what ppl built in there. Place is (was?) a wonderful display of organized, chaotic and artistic choices and behaviors. Participation is awfully slow but that seems to add to the amazing effects the occur. I always found the anarchistic behaviors interesting, like the void. I helped with rainbow road a bit just to be a part of it, nothing serious though just a couple pixels here and there.
I set up roller coaster tycoon 2 using the OpenRCT2 docker container , pretty cool.
