Except for needing bnc to keep your nick on some networks, it works very well imo
I hate Discord passionately. I miss the days of Mumble + IRC

Depends on the environment. For enterprise, it’s shit because there’s no support. For home it’s shit because I want software from this decade.
I would never recommend Debian for an end-user OS. Probably not even for a server, unless you’re somehow infatuated with the worst package management suite there is.
Everyone keeps saying “it’s stable” like all the other distros are not. Debian is just behind.
I have spent way too much time fiddling with audio, both in PulseAudio and Pirewire. Granted, this sucks even more on Windows.
Weird how my absolute favorite thing about Linux is how easy and simple installing software is, at least on Arch. Never touched a flatpack or snap or whatever else they’re called for my 13+ years if use.

1·9 months agoI almost exclusively used both through Android with Chromecast, and I must say, I’ve had way more trouble with Emby than Plex.
Also on smart TVs, the Plex apps just have way fewer issues in my experience.

4·10 months agoIf you need a daemon (to always run in the background, like on a server), use Deluge or Transmission.
If you just need a basic client that can live in your systray, qBittorrent.

3·10 months agoI agree. My
.zshrcis littered with functions. Most useful ones are mypackandextractI made ~10 years ago, they just recognize file extension and use the correct tool.
I will say I had a lot of trouble with Bluetooth (bluez) on Linux, but I think it mainly comes down to the implementation. I have a cheap dongle and pairing gamepads has been a nightmare sometimes.
