Elecrow. For 5 boards i paid $130 iirc. And I’ve seen some things in the Discord regarding JLCPCB… For example, for one person they completely covered one of the mounting points.

I’m personally on the fence regarding anarchism, but I don’t think it matters right now. People should unionize, protest (not wishy-washy boycotts, actual protests). If the balance of power stirs to the people, then we worry what is the next course of action.

Yeah and besides, most if not all IRC servers have Matrix bridges.

To me everything seems to point to the fact that community developed distros, even if funded by corporations, seems to be the best option moving forward.

To me the one about scientific research sounds hard but not impossible to achieve. Maybe I’m just optimistic though.

1. How do businesses today that rely on ad revenue (web search, podcasts, etc) continue to exist and pay salaries and other expenses? A. These would all require a move to direct payment models. Either a usage fee or a subscription fee.

On their own it would probably not work for everyone, but groups of paid services might work. Although I’m not sure how I would feel if everything started having a paywall…

Also I like both ideas. Would likely make consuming stuff more informative than persuasive.

Maybe, yeah. Not seeing everything through rose tinted glasses has made me realize how much I hate the current, greedy world. However I’m also very misinformed on other non-capitalist systems so I don’t think I can contribute much to that at the moment.

Very interesting, I’m gonna study computer engineering so it makes me a bit hopeful that in the science community, things are rocky but changing for the better.

I will miss that too. However, I’m not sure how moderation on Lemmy works, but if only the admins get to moderate, it will be very exhausting to look through every NSFW community. Outsourcing moderation might help the situation, but considering even big corporation owned websites struggle with illegal content being posted, imagine a small community like Lemmy currently is.

A shame, Reddit is the only website I’ve found that had a few subs posting trans porn without being fetishizing and/or male gaze-y.

Hi! I’m a trans woman who likes for the most part gaming stuff and programming(said every Redditor trans woman ever!)

I also like:

• Music (Mostly metal and progressive rock, with some pop on the side). I’m also learning to play the guitar.
• Animals, especially cats and dogs, in that order 😼
• Transformers, been an important part of my early childhood.
• Reading, though I haven’t been able to really get into that hobby yet
• Watching TV, for the most part animation, Star Wars, and some others. Favorite series, in no order: Gravity Falls, The Owl House, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Transformers Prime, Clone Wars
• Movies are cool too. From the top of my head I like Nobody, the first Monty Python(haven’t watched the others), Lord of the Rings(recently watched Two Towers for the first time, gonna watch Return of the King soon), Into/Across The Spiderverse, all Star Wars movies except sequels and most of the Disney Rennaisance stuff. I used to like Marvel movies but I got burnt out.
• Favorite videogames of all time include: Titanfall 2, Portal 2, Kirby Superstar Ultra, Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, Sonic Mania, Earthbound, Mother 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Celeste, Mega Man X, and some others I may have forgotten.

That makes sense actually.

When you put it that way…with that said 1 and 3 don’t bother me(although 2 does sometimes), but it might be because I’m 18 :P

Regardless, I think she convinced me. Maneuvering SALAMIs to become something akin to scifi(emotions and all that) will at best, imo, be a waste of resources that could be used for them to process information better. At worst, it will likely worsen the dystopia scenario we are already facing where companies and goverment use this technology to manipulate people even more than what is currently happening (from advertising to propaganda).

I miss r/actuallesbians, r/MTF, and some obscure gaming communties like r/titanfall, r/Metroid and r/Earthbound.

Oh and the brainrot known as r/okbuddychicanery and r/anarchychess.
