    there are some evil places with trees, for example Taur-nu-Fuin, “Forest under Night,” the pine forest south of Morgoth’s mountain fortress Thangorodrim. or Mirkwood, especially southern Mirkwood near Sauron’s fortress Dol Guldur. or the Old Forest east of the Shire, which isn’t evil exactly, but unfriendly at least

    No Man’s Land was certainly the result of evil, and I’ve never seen a living, growing tree in any picture I’ve ever seen
