Even in the distant future, we can’t escape the cheap bastards who always have to cut corners to save a few slips of gold-pressed latinum. 🙄

I read this as meaning “filmed for the series” and not “used stock footage” but then I remembered it’s a dumb meme joke thing

Why did they always do this dorky posture when teleporting somewhere? Completely unready for anything. Hands far away from weapons and communicators, nobody checking the rear or flanks. Worst possible stance and weight balance, everyone would be toppled by a strong gust of wind.

Because the actors would need to film the scene in the transporter room on Tuesday and the scene on the surface on Thursday, for shots that would be played instantly back to back on the show, so they had to strike a pose they could accurately repeat.

Plus the design of the transporter pad looks like it has a strict cylindrical volume, so it looked like they were trying to fit inside that so as not to leave behind a forearm, but they transport objects of all kinds of sizes so IDK.

Well damn at least Frakes and Dorn should’ve learned to repeat a pose that looked like they’re being dropped into an unfamiliar environment, and not like they’re at a pharmacy checkout. Even Troi’s stance is a bit better in that shot.
