WASHINGTON (AP) — Sometimes it feels like barely an hour can go by without hearing from President Donald Trump. So when he didn’t appear for one day, then two, then three, speculation started to swirl online about his health.
Not even a few glimpses of the president visiting his golf course over the weekend were enough to stanch the social media rumor mill fueled by political opponents. Trump was asked directly about it Tuesday at his first public event in a week.
“How did you find out over the weekend that you were dead?” asked Fox News’ Peter Doocy. “Did you see that?”
“No,” the 79-year-old Trump responded flatly. The senators and administration officials gathered around him for the Space Command headquarters announcement shifted their weight and smiled.
The White House has said Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, which means veins in the legs can’t properly carry blood back to the heart, causing it to pool in the lower legs. It’s a fairly common condition for older adults.
As far as the bruising, press secretary Karoline Leavitt said it’s from “frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin,” which Trump takes regularly to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.

This whole thing is ridiculous. Anybody who’s had, or had a loved-one with a chronic illness, knows that there are good and bad days. The descent into dementia isn’t a smooth, linear, downhill run. He’s not dead, but he’s on the glide path that direction. This pattern of him disappearing from public view at random has been going on for several years, and the length of each occurrence is growing. It’s up to 3 days now. (There were a couple of instances between election and inauguration when his handlers couldn’t find an excuse to pull him into seclusion, and there were some really over-the-top batshit loopy interviews as a result.)
But, I guess American public discourse is so degraded that we can’t handle anything but binary distinctions now— he’s either in perfect health or he’s dead?
People kept saying Biden had a mental decline and his people and news had Biden’a back. They hid all that for extended period of time. Biden was seen maybe 5x in his last 1yr of office. One of those times was the debate. When you say Trump has dementia you are just projecting.
Projecting what?
Projecting the claims of dementia of Biden to say the same is happening with Trump. So basically just refusing to accept Biden has mental decline and just stating instead Trump has mental decline.
It is the adult version of “I am not a poo poo head, you are a poo poo head.” Lol
This has to do with the long list of signs and symptoms that Trump has dementia. What does this have to do with Biden? He might be suffering from it, too. Those signs can be addressed separately, and there’s no reason it can’t be both men. They’re both ancient.
