I can handle an info dump, but if you try and tell me about your day I’ll fucking kill myself.
Just drop into screensaver mode. You don’t actually have to retain what they say. They will enunciate keywords to remember. Just nod and think of samurai pizza cats or whatever.
Or communicate that you aren’t listening. I would want to know, as the speaker, that my words are going in one ear and out the other.
