Privacy@lemmy.ml•EFF Statement on ICE Use of Paragon Solutions Malware
1·5 months agoI agree that with linux, once you’re in, you’re in. there is virtualization but that’s annoying and slow, or ig you could not use internet(pretty much impossible) or very strict firewall rules, and then use some kind of proxy but that would not be a problem if it were hacked, and would resend the data but maybe fromna reader mode, which you could display with a minimalist browser.

2·5 months agoso, GSI is just android with fast updates and the possibility to only have foss or have no apps? that’s not what I need, I want a system with microg or nothing instead of google services, only foss apps but ideally no apps preinstalled(that, GSI can do) and also privacy features like microphone and camera blocking. I think I’ll just use lineage, or install a real linux on it.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Implementing Portable User Identities with DIDsEnglish
3·5 months agoyeah, that’s doable, I would do it like this: DIDs could just be cryptographic signing keys, and your client could just sign all your posts, and send it to any server, which will federate that. same with the upvotes/downvotes(timestamps will have to be signed so a server could not just replay an upvote or downvote if you change your mind) in this case, servers will only be useful for naming(and keeping the bio and public signing key) and relaying the messages to other servers. what’s described is pretty much that.
