Been messing around with it for the past few days. Getting some of the software that I use on Windows, it replacements for it, has been the only trouble. The rest is just fun learning. It’s a bit nicer to learn with than trying to get everything it has base than normal Arch.

0·3 years agoSo, there are a couple of things that have happened recently. I have an old laptop that I’ve messed around with different distros of Linux on. I installed Arch on it and am trying to do some different things. It’s not a good laptop, so the VM set up I’m really interested in won’t happen until I get a few more drives for my main PC and set up a dual boot abd some other things. I am really interested in this set up because it just sounds neat.
Are there some things I should try to do to help me get better at working with this OS? I’m currently seeking up a server with a reverse proxy using nginx and its… Going. The server works I think, but the proxy doesnt yet.

0·3 years agoWith some of the news going around about the new windows versions and what-not, this sounds really interesting. I have a couple questions if you could answer them, that would be awesome!
How does a new release of Windows affect the compatibility of this set up? I know programs with for a while on older releases, but after a time, that version will be phased out. That might be more about the VM than your setup, but I don’t have a lot of experience with those either lol.
Does this introduce some system lag for input in any way? If I ever do get the confidence to abandon my system to go to Linux, it would suck if this really cool sounding method added response time to inputs.
That sounds like a good idea. I might make a post later. I’m not at home, so i wouldn’t be able to do it properly since I don’t have all of them with me at the moment.
Thank you! I tried different things with each one. The only thing similar between them is that two have wooden cases, and two have the same switches because kailh deep sea silent tactile a are sooooo good!!!
Well… Some are more for the shelf because I’m already a LotR nerd. I only have two copies of the trilogy, the hobbit, Beren and Lúthien, The simllmarillion, and Tales from the Perilous Realm… I needed more Tolkien things to show off lol.
Went on a kind of a tear and built a handful of keyboards. I built all i wanted and don’t have plane for more for myself at the moment.

Honestly, finding this place has been the highlight of my month! This week has been crazy busy at work. About 4 different projects all started going on at once on top of my normal work load and it’s been a bit draining. But, i put in for a couple vacation days a month ago and am going to be spending it at a friend’s doing lán parties and just general hanging out.
I hope all y’all’s is going well! Or will soon be!

I would be really interested in more information about this. Thanks for bringing it to my attention to look into!
