Linux@lemmy.world•GPU VRAM Overclocking Possible with Linux Kernel 6.4English
1·3 years agoNo problem! It’s kinda funny that you mention that it’s in Debian Sid. I was running Debian Bookworm when I installed CoreCtrl and I actually installed from source.
If you don’t know what you’re drinking, it’s probably dark roast. Dark roast is like charcoal compared to light roast.
The coffee most folks use (i.e. Folgers, Maxwell House) is low-quality coffee made in haste to keep the price low enough for folks to be willing to buy it. They only offer darker roasts because disguise the inferior nature of the beans, or rather the inferior process. The unfortunate truth is that good coffee costs more to process because it takes longer to process and most folks don’t want to spend that much on coffee. So, you get what you pay for.

1·3 years agoThat’s interesting; kernel 6.4 enabled VRAM overclocking on my 5600 XT while disabling it on the 6900 XT.

Linux@lemmy.world•GPU VRAM Overclocking Possible with Linux Kernel 6.4English
1·3 years agoSo far, I’ve really only tested my VRAM overclock in the Nova: Covert Ops, but I’ve noticed that the cutscenes run a lot smoother. Before, there were a few that were a bit choppy, but now, they’re buttery-smooth!
Yeah, he’ll beat deadlines by a longshot.
I think you need to try some lighter-roasted, higher-quality beans which were roasted fairly recently and only grind them a day or so before you use them. There are also different brewing methods and coffee/water ratios that you can try.
Try Math.round. It’s been like ten years since I used Java, but I’m pretty sure it’s in there.

1·3 years agoI used a program called CoreCtrl. I don’t think it’s in any distribution repositories, but you can install it from source, which doesn’t take too long. Though, you will need to add a special boot parameter to your GRUB file.

Science Fiction@lemmy.world•'Babylon 5' is finally coming to Blu-ray
2·3 years agoEh, sorta. It’s possible that the CGI files may have finally been located, but I’m not sure. As far as I know, the Blu-Rays will be 4x3 instead of the originally-intended 16x9 aspect ratio. The show was filmed in 16x9 and J. Michael Stracznski intended to have the CGI re-rendered at some point when it could be done faster and cheaper, but the files were lost before that could be done.
Yeah, the DVDs kinda were widescreen, but that’s because they were cropped from 4x3 to 16x9.

Stallman Was Right@lemmy.ml•HP disables customers’ printers if they use ink cartridges from cheaper rivals
1·3 years agonever been connected to any external network
Do you mean it’s never been able to connect to the Internet? Or that it doesn’t to talk to HP? Is it just shared from one PC or via a CUPS server or something like that?

Stallman Was Right@lemmy.ml•HP disables customers’ printers if they use ink cartridges from cheaper rivals
1·3 years agoThis isn’t actually new, but yes, it is infuriating. It’s also why I haven’t bought an HP printer. Well, at least since I found out about this issue back in 2017 or so.
