See, I read that scene as being equivocal because I’m not familiar with the comics, so I (still) don’t know what the darkhold is beyond “evil macguffin.” The scene opens with her so tranquil, appearing to make peace with herself and searching for her lost children. I thought they were leaving the door open that she might have a chance of accomplishing that.

So it would’ve been nice to have like 5 minutes in MoM to just show what happened between that and fully evil demon Wanda. I dunno, just felt shortchanged to me

No, I’m happy with the direction they took her after the events of WV. I would just have liked to see that moment she decided to lean into it depicted onscreen instead of being an off screen development. That’s a huge moment to just…not show. I think it would have added a lot to the movie.

I loved the pieces of The Marvels. But the completed movie felt rushed and really really badly edited to me. Which made it so much more disappointing because the pieces were SO good. (Kittens and dancing, singing princesses?? Omg amazing.)

Oh right, I was mixing up Spider-Man FFH & NWH.

Shang-Chi was the kind of quality I expect from MCU.

But I’ll be honest, even MoM disappointed me. It felt like they just abandoned all of the character development poured into Wanda because “heh heh cool Sam Raimi movie” and the America plot was kind of tacked on.

Black Widow, Eternals, Thor L&T, The Marvels all had the potential to be great. It’s like they just gave up on scripts and that notorious centralized quality assurance. Which I know is something a lot of people hated on them for, but I think the difference is obvious. Their centralized production over Phase 3 projects worked.

(We don’t talk about Quantumania. That one was unsalvageable.)

I hope they get back to the old way of doing things as Phase 5 progresses.

And people seriously underestimate the simplest reason: poor execution. Phase 4 just had so many movies that weren’t good. The writing was bad, a couple characters or moments would be what you expect, but the overall product was just shoddy.

I think you could say that about almost every single Please 4 movie except Guardians 3. There was just a massive drop in quality.

I’m thrilled with Vanessa Kirby. That’s exciting.

Yes, it was too short! Important plot moments had no room to breathe. It got confusing a couple of times, and the really good emotional moments went by too fast.

That’s the kind of decision making that just mystifies me. I have no idea how the studio can screen that movie and think pushing it out with such a short runtime was a successful strategy.

I agree with others that I don’t think superhero fatigue is real. Through this whole bad quality slog, I’ve still watched every MCU movie…once.

I’ve kept hoping for them to stop and reassess the production problems the pandemic caused, and I was shocked they just kept pushing out all those half-assed projects even though they clearly knew the problems.

I really had high hopes for The Marvels. It had the look, it had all the pieces in place to finally be the return to greatness, and it just wasn’t.

So I really hope this break is the full reassessment and readjustment of how they want to handle diversifying creative styles with new directors and things like The Eternals while still maintaining the level of story and character engagement we got through the Infinity Saga.

I still completely believe they have it in them to do something else great. They just need to stop and make an actual plan before steamrolling ahead. It’s not all just gonna take care of itself and I hope they know that now.

I completely disagree with the sentiment here. My 40s have been great because they marked the point in my life when I finally lost my last fuck to give.

The freedom that provides is worth not being able to drink the way I used to in my 30s. Enjoy that achievement.

I’m in the middle of book 7 and holy what a shift. I’m in the part where it’s so overwhelming, you can’t even begin to imagine how this will get resolved. Very excited to read the last two books.

CVS Health and Kroger apparently both argued that their staff are trained to respond to these requests and have access legal departments if they have questions.

Yeah, great corporate policy to force a bunch of criminally understaffed front line employees to try to add dealing with aggressive police officers to their daily tasks.

No, even though I watched both series and all the other movies, it was still hard to follow. It was just so poorly written and paced. The editing jumped around, moments with critical information were breezed past without enough time to absorb what just happened.

Honestly, it should have been a great movie. It has all the pieces; they were just so badly executed. It’s the first MCU thing I was genuinely excited to see in quite a while, and instead I sat there the whole time wondering how this ever made it through any kind of quality control.

As a person who has had many cats in my life, I am of the opinion that two cats is the best number of cats. If you can afford to care for and have space for a second cat, I’d say go for it.

If you’re not really experienced with cats, be aware that cats almost never get along immediately. It can take weeks of them seeming to hate each other before they become friendly. It’s helpful to put the new cat in a cage where the current cat can see and smell them, but can’t reach them with claws. That gives them a little space to get to know each other before the current cat feels like its territory is being invaded.

It’s based on likelihood to succeed and remaining useful life. I’ve had a patient in their 70s receive a kidney transplant. Ability to attend medical appointments and adhere to prescription drug regimens play a large role in approval for transplant. And I’ve personally witnessed major transplant teams go out of their way to help patients overcome obstacles like transport to medical appointments, affording meds, in an effort to get them ready for transplant approval.

Honestly, I wish all medical care could be as hands on and holistic as transplant is.
