  • Traditional werewolves in horror are about the fear of inner unknown selves, like impulses that you don’t identify with or having something else take over your body. It’s abjection and a little bit of body horror. Predatory animals were just kind of the height of danger for most people back when folk lores were being written, the wolf thing is more symbolic than anything else.

    Do you fuck with World of Darkness? They have different takes on all these monsters and contextualizes them with modern sensibilities. Might be worth glancing at just to see how you want to write differently from those themes or not.
