Then take out the AI, the telemetry, and the bloat like it was the mid-2000s.

Oh wait -that’s what Waterfox did.

Been using Firefox since was called Phoenix, but some months ago I moved away to Librewolf, and I’m not going back, no matter the ad campaign. I feel my privacy is at risk, and I feel like I was a product that they need to monetize. No thanks

Man it’s too bad they didn’t get Rick Astley in there too. Could’ve licensed the song too.

Thanks, I hate it. Not the browser, but the ad. I don’t want stale nostalgia. I want a modern, secure, privacy-oriented ecosystem and tools which help taking the internet back from the claws of megacorporations. Tools which help building new communities and resilience to corporate enshittification. The ad just rubs me entirely the wrong way.

I pose the question not because it’s hard to answer, but because the answer should make you think of follow-up questions.

        • Why do they want market share?
          • To make more money.
        • How does a web browser make money?
          • By exploiting its users.
        • How are they exploiting users?

These are just some examples. I’m sure you can think of more.

In a capitalist system, you advocate to never trust anyone under any circumstance. “To make more money” can just mean putting food on tables rather than be damning evidence of malfeasance. We already know for sure that Google is worse, so what do you suggest we do with your comment?
