French government moving towards using NixOS

At least some parts of the french government seem to be moving towards Linux (NixOS): From what I understand they’ll be basing it off GitHub - cloud-gouv/securix: Sécurix is a NixOS-based secure operating system tailored for small to medium-sized teams. It provides a minimal, hardened environment with strong isolation, reproducibility, and policy-driven configurations to ensure operational security and compliance. · GitHub

take a look at https://www.laquadrature.net/en/ before you celebrate.

fr*nch don’t give a fuck about privacy. Don’t confuse national security with privacy. This is happening because U.S. is no longer considered an ally.

It’s a fairly widespread Internet meme, I think in order to make fun of France, though I’m not sure exactly where it originated.

Or are you just not sure how to spell it, so you inserted a placeholder?

If you’re studying in Slovakia and have a residence here, the state pays you your pension, health insurance and taxes, so it basically means that you won’t end up in debt that easily. I’m pretty sure it works similarly in France. Also you get free train tickets when signing up with Slovak ISIC and when buying tickets for traveling inside the country.

Regardless where you are in the EEA, you’re pretty much well off everywhere.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word “Linux” in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
