After years of promises of implementing playlists and quietly removing it from their featured to do list, id like to see what alternative yall could recommend thats equally permanent and allows you to create playlists?

By permanent i mean that with freetube, i dont have much fear that it will suddenly go dark like an invidious instance, id like to have something similar with an alternative if possible.

any help is highly appreciated.

except that a change on Youtube’s backend can definitely make it go dark all of a sudden. it happens every now and then with Newpipe.

This is a frustration. I’m sure there’s a fork with play lists. One second…

No. I am sorry. I must be wrong. It might have been a newpipe fork.

thank you for your effort, i actually tried going through newpipe on my phone, but as you might imagine, this became increasingly frustrating as a pc user

For now I just have piped to save playlists in (you dont even need an account for that) but every instance I’ve tried goes dark more and more often each month. Great alternative and I wish all the best to everyone working on it, including the hosters but Freetube works pretty much without issues for many months now.

a random list of services doesnt really help me much imo, i was specifically asking for your personal opinion on which would serve these needs

That’s all there really is. It’s easy enough to just try these. I’ve been looking to set up a local piped instance but the android app still needs some work.

I’m not aware of any other usable tool worth using apart from yt-dlp’ing everything and watching locally I guess?
