3·4 months agoWhy do you have to host Obsidian at all? I run it on my phone and the .md files sync to my server, then they sync to my laptop and I open them in Obsidian there.

If your Synology NAS is in Raid, up-sizing your drives is dead simple.
Pop out one of your current, smaller drives. Pop in a new, bigger drive. Wait for Disk Station to migrate data over to the new drive (note that this can literally take days depending how much data there is). Then do the same with the next old, small drive and the next one until all old, small drives are replaced with new, big ones.
This will work as long as your current drives are not like 24 TB or whatever the upper limit is these days. In that case, you need more bays.
After this is done, move all the data from your externals onto your Synology NAS.

I use Proton VPN only because I use Proton everything else. If not, I’d probably consider Mullvad. But I’m in the US and regional pricing doesn’t apply.

I’ve definitely hired a plumber without using Meta
VS Code also has AI features. Would you be telling people to not use other suites if they were being developed in VS Code? Why should they be forced to use an IDE that explicitly excludes AI?

Ok, I’m on board. So like what do we call installing an app outside of a store?
